The dual exhibition 黙: SPEAKING IN SILENCE at Kyoto’s historic Ryosokuin Zen Temple marks the first collaboration between Japanese artist Izumi Kato and Mexican artist Bosco Sodi, co-curated by the artists themselves after 15 years of friendship and creative dialogue.

Zipangu - Contemporary Artists Who Ran Through the Heisei Era invites viewers to explore the rich tapestry of Japanese contemporary art that flourished during the Heisei era, often referred to as the "Lost 30 Years."

Reborn Art Festival is an arts and culture festival inaugurated during the summer of 2017 in one of the regions hardest hit by the triple disaster that devastated the northeastern coastline of Japan in 2011. Artworks created by renowned artists from Japan and around the world in collaboration with local people are exhibited in the Ishinomaki and Oshika areas.

The sixth edition of ‘A Summer in Le Havre’ features several temporary large-scale art installations and a curated programme of events. Kato lives and works between Tokyo and Hong Kong. He was born in 1969 in the Shimane prefecture of Japan, a sparsely populated province bordered by mountain and sea which houses Izumo Ōyashiro, one of the oldest and most significant shrines in Shintoism.

‘LIKE A ROLLING SNOWBALL’ brings together 145 works, including never seen before pieces, to provide a comprehensive overview of Izumi Kato's career spanning a quarter of a century.

Fundación Casa Wabi presents Izumi Kato’s first exhibit in Latin America. For this exhibition, Izumi Kato worked in-situ, exploring the new possibilities in form, materials and textures offered by Mexico. The result is a combination of new colors and compositions, never used by the artist before.

Izumi Kato presents more than 50 works from the past decade including Untitled (2018), a brand-new fabric series specially tailored for the exhibition and a site-specific creation in the garden of Red Brick Art Museum.
