Hulda Guzmán features in 'A Cool Million Campaign', a public arts initiative for climate awareness led by artists and institutions to expand environmental justice programming and support the conservation of one million acres of land.
‘Winter Dreams’ is a presentation of five collection paintings by Hulda Guzmán, Chris Johanson, and Firenze Lai. Displayed 24-hours in a street-facing vitrine, ‘The Nightmare’, from the series 'Be Kind To Your Demons', 2018 by Hulda Guzmán presents a number of scenes in which female characters carry out mundane activities in the company of devil-like creatures.
‘The Other Side of Now: Foresight in Contemporary Caribbean Art’ is a thematic group exhibition centered on the question, ‘what might a Caribbean future look like?’ Including a series of newly commissioned works, the exhibition engages diasporic voices alongside artists living and working in the region.
Titled ‘May You Live In Interesting Times’, the 58th Venice Biennale features 89 National Participations in the historic Pavilions at the Giardini, the Arsenale and the historic city centre of Venice. The Dominican Republic exhibits for the first time at the Biennale Arte with its own national pavilion, featuring artists Rita Bertrecchi, Marraffa & Casciotti, Hulda Guzmán, Dario Oleaga, Nicola Pica, Miguel Ramirez, Ezequiel Taveras and Julio Valdez.
Held as part of the Latin American Cultural Festival, ‘Borderless Generation: Contemporary Art of Latin America’ features 27 artists from 16 countries and their artworks. The presentation explores the diversity of Latin American contemporary art and during the exhibition period features daily screenings of Latin American films with social, cultural, and historical themes.
