'Museum for Preventive Imagination' is the title of the three-year programme of interdisciplinary exhibitions and events envisioned by Luca Lo Pinto, the new Artistic Director of Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (MACRO) that will evolve organically until the end of 2022. 

On Thursday 15 July, Big Medium's 'Coffee Chat' hosted Deborah Roberts in conversation with fellow Austin-based artist Betelhem Makonnen. Big Medium is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting artists and building a sense of community through the arts in Austin and across Texas.

'Kehinde Wiley: Painter of the Epic' at Centre d'art La Malmaison, Cannes is the first major survey of the African-American artist's work in France. Curated by Numa Hambursin, the exhibition brings together almost thirty works to demonstrate the complex visual vocabulary that has guided Wiley's practice for over a decade.

Museum Jorn in Silkeborg hosts the first comprehensive presentation of Stephan Balkenhol's work in Denmark. The exhibition was developed in close collaboration with the German artist and features new as well as historic works.

'Intimate Companions' is a group exhibition curated by Joe Sheftel and hosted by Provincetown Arts Society and Ken Fulk in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The exhibition is held at the meticulously restored, sprawling 18th-century, eight-bedroom home of Mary Heaton Vorse, a celebrated labor reporter and the grande dame of the avant-garde.

Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is the final venue to present 'Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power', a group exhibition organised by Tate, London. Bringing together a wide range of works, the exhibition explores what it means to be a Black artist during two revolutionary decades in American history.

New York City's LGBTQ Community Center hosted Leilah Babirye and American textile artist LJ Roberts for a live discussion on Thursday 25 June, 10.30pm GMT. The talk is part of the series 'Dykonography: Conversations With Artists' which focuses on visual art and queer identity, with an emphasis on lesbian visibility. 

On Wednesday 24 June from 10am, Jonathan Baldock took part in a seven hour Slow TV marathon streamed on Kunsthall Stavanger’s website. The live stream showed Baldock working on new large-scale textile works for his solo exhibition ‘Me, Myself and I’ at Kunsthall Stavanger (10 September–8 November 2020).  

In celebration of its tenth anniversary, MAXXI, Rome hosts a programme of events, including 'A story for the future', a ten-hour social digital marathon. The event is a partnership with Vanity Fair Italia and takes place on the museum's social media channels on Thursday 18 June (11am–9pm). 

Black Rock Senegal is partnering with Dr. Abdou Karim Diop, director of Centre de Santé Philippe Senghor Yoff and head of the West Health District of Dakar, and with the Association des Femmes de la Cité Biagui et Toundourya (AFBET) for the donation of 700 masks to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Senegal.

'State of the Arts' is a group exhibition at Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn which presents works that blur the boundaries of traditionally distinct artistic media. As part of the exhibition, British artist David Shrigley has installed three giant inflatable swans titled 'Inflatable Swan-Thing' in the museum foyer.
