Mamma Andersson features in 'Faszination Höle'
'Faszination Höle', or 'Cave Fascination', explores artistic representations of the cave. The exhibition examines the cave as a place of shelter and spirituality, as well as a threat– a space that is dark and difficult to reach. The exhibition also marks the 150th birthday of the musuem's builder, Bernhard Hoetger (1874–1949). The expressionist style building opened in 1927. Its cave-like vestibule is the inspiration for the exhibition.
A series of Mamma Andersson's 'Cave' prints are on display. Hand printed on rice paper, each work is unique: texture of the wood, the viscosity of the ink, and the placement of the woodblock cannot be repeated more than once.
