Hulda Guzmán: The Haircut
Hulda Guzmán's 'The Haircut' is on view at the Artspace Project Wall. Initiated by Kansas City Art Institute, the Project Wall is an ongoing site for temporary public art projects by contemporary artists. 'The Haircut' offers a broad and elevated perspective of the place where the land meets the sea. It suggests a sense of communion, interconnectedness, and a respect for the delicate balance between humanity, wildlife, and the environment. Guzmán is known for her depictions of the landscape of the Dominican Republic, where she lives and works. Discussing her recent work, she has said that she aims to portray “a perspective of feeling humbled by the mechanics of our planet and the universe".
