Stephan Balkenhol: Window in Time

In this exhibition, Stephan Balkenhol presents sculptures of selected figures from the Old Masters collection of Museum Wiesbaden. Drawing on the humanist tradition of European art history, Balkenhol creates a dialogue between contemporary art and its artistic precursors. Visitors become part of the resulting spatial image, as the artist breaks down traditional viewer relationships. Balkenhol combines generations, like a family reunion, to explore themes of cultural heritage, exchange and the everyday.
