Thomas Hirschhorn is included in ‘Atlas. Cartography of the gift’
The inaugural exhibition of Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne, Switzerland, Atlas. Cartography of the gift presents works from the Collection over almost 3,200m2 of the Museum exhibition space. Presenting the rich collections of the Museum for the first time, the exhibition composes its own atlas, mapping the relationships between works of different eras and formal or conceptual approaches.
Without neglecting the importance of older donations including that of Dr. Widmer, in 1936 and 1939, a special place is reserved for the recent donations of Alice Pauli (Pierre Soulages, Anselm Kiefer, Giuseppe Penone, Anish Kapoor, etc.). Included in the exhibition are also many works of great heritage value (Auguste Rodin, Paul Klee, Balthus, Giovanni Giacometti, Felix Vallotton, Louise Nevelson, Rebecca Horn, Maria Elena Vieira da Silva, etc.).
