Caroline Coon features in Scandal '63 Revisited
'Scandal '63 Revisted: Reframing the Profumo Affair via Art and Artefact' is a group exhibition comprising a mix of newly-comissioned artworks and surviving materials from the scandal. The presentation interrogates the gendered interpretations that have dominated public understandings of the tumultuous events that ushered in the ‘permissive society’. In particular, it asks questions about the figures of Christine Keeler and her ‘mentor’, Stephen Ward, and their representation in the dramas and musicals that have periodically revived the scandal since 1963.
Short film, 'I AM WHORE', and 'Christine Keeler: Anger, Blame, Shame, Grief, Ruin’, by Caroline Coon are exhibited alongside works by artists including Sadie Hennesy, Wendy Nelson and Dameon Priestly.
