Thomas Hirschhorn features in 'Résister, encore'
"What really counts is that no ruin is 'innocent'. All ruins connect beyond time and beyond location—a ruin is universal and timeless." – Thomas Hirschhorn
Group presentation ‘Résister, encore’ explores forms of resistance developed by artists. Including withdrawal, silence, resilience, outcry, indignation, protestation, action, reflection, satire and humour.
The exhibition includes ‘A Ruin is a Ruin (A Ruin is a Ruin)’, 2016 by Thomas Hirschhorn, a series of mixed-media works that combine imagery of ruins to investigate the charged meanings ascribed to these complex and politically charged sites.
Artists featured include: Miriam Cahn, Banu Cennetoğlu, Michel François, Philip Guston, Fabrice Gygi, Thomas Hirschhorn, Amar Kanwar, William Kentridge, Kimsooja, Sigalit Landau, Nalini Malani, Teresa Margolles, Zanele Muholi and Félix Vallotton.
