Thomas Hirschhorn features in 'Les grands Ensembles'
Group exhibition 'Les grands Ensembles' brings together twenty artists as a collective whose works involve an exploration of public space, architecture and related societal themes. The presentation includes recent works, historical pieces, archives and commissions. Alongside this, a creative residency centre, symposium and publication delve further into the history of social housing in the city of Vélizy-Villacoublay.
The exhibition includes documentation on ‘Musée Précaire Albinet’, 2004 by Thomas Hirschhorn, a makeshift museum set up by the artist in a Paris suburb. Run by local residents, it displayed a selection of modern masters borrowed from the prestigious collection housed at the Pompidou.
Artists featured include: Nathanaël Abeille, Fabienne Albin, Yves Bélorgey, Mohamed Bourouissa, Le Corbusier, Stefan Eichhorn, Anne-Valérie Gasc, gethan&myles, Dan Graham, Samia Henni, Ibai Hernandorena, Thomas Hirschhorn, Pierre Huyghe, Valérie Jouve, Bertrand Lamarche, Martha Rosler, Hervé Rousseau, SAEIO and Laure Tixier.
