Luiz Zerbini features in 'Trees'
The Power Station of Art, Shanghai and Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris present ‘Trees’. Curated by Bruce Albert, Hervé Chandès, Fei Dawei, Isabelle Gaudefroy and Gong Yan, ‘Trees’ forms an audio-visual journey, amplifying the voices of the artists, scientists and philosophers who have contributed to this project.
Organised in collaboration with the anthropologist Bruce Albert, the exhibition’s first iteration in 2019 at Fondation Cartier in Paris brought together a community of artists, botanists, and scientists such as Francis Hallé, Fabrice Hyber, Stefano Mancuso and Luiz Zerbini, who are connected, through their artistic or scientific careers, by an established connection with trees. In 2021 Fondation Cartier and The Power Station of Art present an extended version of the 2019 exhibition, including works by the Chinese artists Zhang Enli, Hu Liu and Huang Yong Ping and an installation by Italian architect Stefano Boeri and his Shanghai-based studio that enables guests to explore Liuzhou Forest City, a next-generation urban architecture model containing over 40,000 trees.
Artists featured include: Bruce Albert, Grga Basic, Stefano Boeri, Jake Bryant, Johanna Calle, Alex Cerveny, Zhang Enli, John Gerrard, Francis Hallé, Fabrice Hyber, Luc Jacquet, Joseca, Mahmoud Khan, Cesare Leonardi, Hu Liu, Stefano Mancuso, Jivya Soma Mashe, Sebastián Mejía, Santídio Pereira, Huang Yong Ping, Kalepi Sanöma, Jérôme Schlomoff, Franca Stagi, Afonso Tostes, François-Michel Le Tourneau, Adriana Varejão, Cássio Vasconcellos, Ehuana Yaira and Luiz Zerbini.
