Kendell Geers features in 'Retour, à la rencontre de l’Afrique contemporaine'

This new group exhibition explores themes surrounding the restitution of African heritage in contemporary art. Co-produced by La Maison de l’Afrique à Nantes and L’association Les Anneaux de la Mémoire, the show is part of the Year of Africa in France.

Artists featured include Sinzo Anza, Dimitri Fagbohoun, Pélagie Gbaguidi, Kendell Geers, Frédéric Guillet, Jems Koko Bi, Ives-Apollinaire Pèdè, Hervé Youmbi and Amina Zoubir.

Describing himself as an ‘AniMystikAKtivist', South African artist Kendell Geers weaves together diverse Afro-European traditions including animism, alchemy, mysticism and a complex socio-political activism laced with humour and irony.
