Mamma Andersson features in ‘Nordic Impressions: Contemporary Art from Åland, Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden'
‘Nordic Impressions: Contemporary Art from Åland, Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden' reflects the rich diversity of Nordic art. Works on show explore a broad range of themes including the coalescence of nature and folklore, women's rights, social liberalism, climate change, sustainability and immigration.
This exhibition features works drawn from a wider survey exhibition held at Philips in 2018 and is presented with thanks to the Nordic Cultural Initiative, a collaboration between the Phillips Collection and the Washington, D.C.-based embassies of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, launched in 2014 to promote the wealth of Nordic artistic talent.
The exhibition is accompanied by a programme which includes art workshops for children, a book launch with artist, Tanya Toft Ag, and an artist panel event during Armory week.
