Latin America from 1950 to 2020: a personal journey
Stephen Friedman Gallery has built a reputation for its commitment over the last 25 years to championing artists from Latin America. The gallery inaugurates its Online Viewing Room (OVR) programme with a specially curated exhibition featuring works by celebrated historical and mid-career artists from South America who have formed a vital part of the gallery’s history. The OVR is accompanied by a personal narrative from Stephen Friedman.
Collectors will be able to preview the OVR from 30 March before it opens to the general public from 1 to 19 April 2020.
Artists include Juan Araujo, Tonico Lemos Auad, Manuel Espinosa, Gego, Judith Lauand, Beatriz Milhazes, Rivane Neuenschwander, Mira Schendel and Luiz Zerbini.
Throughout the three weeks of the OVR being live, look out for social media and newsletter content encompassing a wide selection of materials that explore Latin American culture, architecture and music across Instagram, Spotify and our website collated by gallery artists and SFG staff members.
A new OVR will be unveiled every month until Summer 2020.
