Holly Hendry presents the site-specific sculpture, 'Phyllis'
The Art Block presents a site-specific sculpture by Holly Hendry. ‘Phyllis’ represents the first in a series of six-month long residencies, which will be curated by Selfridges, London in partnership with Helen Pheby, Head of Curatorial Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Standing at nearly 4-metres tall ‘Phyllis’ absorbs the rubble created by the construction of a new retail department. Along with silicone, gum, soap, ash, grit, lipstick pigment, aluminium, steel, jesmonite and marble. Through her choice of material Hendry references issues of waste and recycling.
