Holly Hendry, 'The Dump is Full of Images'
For her solo exhibition ’The Dump is Full of Images' British artist Holly Hendry has created her first kinetic sculpture 'Slacker', shown alongside other new works at Weston Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, England.
The site-specific commission 'Slacker' incorporates a rotating band of material ‘skin’ inlaid with images and objects. Made from synthetic substances mixed with aggregates of reused plastics, the material was developed by Hendry in discussion with Parik Goswami, Professor in Technical Textiles at the University of Huddersfield’s School of Applied Science.
