For 'The Stage is Yours', the fourth-floor galleries of the Finnish National Gallery are filled with participatory and experiential artworks that underline the concepts of giving, hospitality, and togetherness. The five artists featured invite visitors to engage as more than just passive viewers - to speak, listen, draw, and perform.
Artists featured include Christian Falsnaes, Lee Mingwei, Amalia Pica, Sasha Pirogova, and David Shrigley. The exhibition includes Shrigley's 'Life Model II', 2016. With the space furnished like a life drawing class, this is a participatory work in which the audience are involved by making art themselves. Their model is a nearly three-metre-tall manikin, whose only change in position is to occasionally blinks its eyes.
