Jonathan Baldock features in 'The Reason for Flowers'
The Reason for Flowers is a group exhibition considering flowers as motif, material, symbol and subject, bringing together emerging and established artists who live and work on the South Coast or have connections with the area. The exhibition is co-curated with Eastbourne-based artist and lecturer Joseph Jones.
The invited artists each work with nature as a constant in their practice, and contribute existing and new work in response to the exhibition’s theme. Flowers here are considered as nourishment, memento mori, decoration, adornment, product, resource, and tool of eco-feminist and post-colonial critique.
Exhibiting artists include Jonathan Baldock, Joseph Jones, Harun Morrison, Grace Ndiritu, Sean Roy Parker, Aimée Parrott, Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck and Babalola Yusuf.
