Andreas Eriksson features in 'Fabric of Life'
The Fabric of Life is an exhibition that focuses on the power of textiles to reveal deep psychological narratives, exploring personal, social and cultural histories.
Presented by Paul Smith Space and Vortic and curated by Catherine Loewe, the show brings together a diverse group of international and intergenerational artists whose practices employ a variety of materials and techniques including weaving, embroidery, sewing, dyeing, tufting, collage, digital and painting.
The versatility of textiles fluctuates from figuration to abstraction, featuring both wall-based and three-dimensional pieces. The intrinsically tactile nature of these works offers an entirely new dimension, that of colour, pattern, shape and texture, whether using ancient traditional crafts, recycling materials or incorporating digital technologies, sometimes in combination.
Participating artists include Andreas Eriksson, Hangama Amiri, Sara Berman, Bea Bonafini, Tiffanie Delune, Delphine Dénéréaz and Camilla Emson.
